World Food Safety 2022

Established in 2018 by the United Nations General Assembly, World Food Safety Day raises awareness on the 7th June every year.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) have stated that “Whether we grow, process, transport, store, sell, buy, prepare or serve food, food safety is in all our hands.”

Our own belief that “Better science means safer food” ties into this years’ World Food Safety theme “Safer food, better health”. Created to meet the needs of a growing food industry, Randox provides screening solutions to ensure food is safe and meets government regulations. Our versatile range of products include Biochip Arrays and ELISAs to screen feed and food for:

  • Antimicrobials
  • Growth promoting hormones
  • Veterinary drug residues
  • Toxins

According to the WHO, an estimated 700,000 people die across the globe every year because of antimicrobial resistant infections. The use of antibiotics in food producing animals must be carefully monitored to ensure food safety and human health.

Multiplexing Biochip Array Technology allows up to 54 individual samples to be screened for multiple drug residues, antimicrobials and toxins simultaneously on the Evidence Investigator analyser in just 2 hours and 30 minutes. Covering meat and seafood, feed and cereals, milk and honey, our solutions allow the user to save on time and costs in comparison to confirmatory laboratories.
