Milk

Protecting the Dairy Supply Chain

Following World Antibiotic Awareness Week last week Randox Food Diagnostics are continuing to promote the benefits of extensive antibiotic and contaminants testing in milk. To ensure the safe supply of milk, an accurate milk test is essential for dairy processors to deliver a safe, high quality product.

In October, the Gujarat Forensic University, India recorded antibiotics in 20% of milk samples, with up to half of samples being three times over the limits stipulated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).  The World Health Organisation and UN now recognise the use of antibiotics in animal agriculture as a contributor to the growth of superbugs.

Randox Food Diagnostics provide the most comprehensive milk testing kit on the market, the InfiniPlex for Milk Array.

InfiniPlex can deliver results for 43 compounds from just one sample of milk. To suit varied throughputs, the test is available on two analysers. The Evidence Investigator is a semi-automated system capable of delivering up to 48 samples in under 2 hours, making it ideal for milk testing laboratories. The second analyser is the Evidence MultiSTAT. A fully automated system that requires zero laboratory experience and can deliver results in 18 minutes.

Additional benefits to using the InfiniPlex for Milk Array include;

  • Drug discrimination capabilities. The test can recognise the specific combinations veterinary drugs can be administered in and identify the pharmaceutical product used
  • Zero technical expertise required. InfiniPlex is user friendly and requires zero sample preparation
  • Compliance with EU Annex 37/2010. The InfiniPlex test menu 98% compliant with EU regulated antibiotics, providing the most comprehensive test menu on the market
